The Sanctity of Life

Jean Morrow

In the upcoming Presidential election many issues will be considered by voters when they cast their ballots on November 4th. However, there is one issue in particular that must not be forgotten about even during this time of economic mayhem, and that matter being the sanctity of human life. This discussion will point out that our next President of the United States MUST be Pro-Life and that Pro-abortion Barack Obama is truly not our "Savior."

Our country was founded on the virtues of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, in essence, we ALL have a God given right to life. With this is mind, it is the McCain-Palin ticket that professes that "Life means the rights of the born and the unborn", a philosophy not reciprocated by the Obama-Biden campaign.

At a March 31st town hall meeting in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Barack Obama told the audience the following: "I’ve got two daughters. But if they make a mistake, I don’t want them to be punished with a baby." Likewise, Obama voted three times against a bill in the Illinois State Senate that would have provided protection for babies who survive abortions equal to protection received by babies who are born prematurely. In addition, in a July 17, 2007 speech to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Obama promised that the first thing he would do as President is sign the Freedom of Choice Act; moreover, this act would make partial-birth abortion legal again, require taxpayer funding of abortion, and strike down all limitations on abortion such as parental notification laws (Source NRLC). He does not respect innocent life and does not back individual responsibility. Therefore, we can count on John McCain because he will advocate for life, and not capitulate the rights of the unborn.

Since the legalization of Roe vs. Wade, approximately 4,000 innocent babies are murdered per day, 1.3 million each year, and the estimated total number of abortions is over 46 million in the United States (Source Pro-Life Action League). Also, as reported by Star Parker, the founder and President of the Coalition on Urban Renewal and Education (C.U.R.E.), 1 in 2 pregnancies of unwed mothers are aborted. This equates to 35,000 per month and over 100,000 babies per year are aborted. If these numbers don’t startle you then I don’t know what will. Additionally, it is important to note that the woman involved in Roe vs. Wade, Norma McCorvey (Roe), lied about being gang raped in order to gain sympathy for her attempt to have an abortion in Texas, never had an abortion herself, now fully opposes abortion and is a member of the Pro-Life movement. Within the next few years between 1 and 3 justices will leave the bench and be replaced by the next President’s appointees. It is only Pro-Life John McCain that will help overturn infanticide with his appointments to the bench, and ultimately help restore human rights to the defenseless unborn children and their vulnerable mothers.

Given what I have previously stated, read the following examples and think about what you would recommend to the mothers involved: (1) The father is sick with sniffles, the mother has TB. They have 4 children. 1st is blind, 2nd is deaf, 3rd is deaf, 4th has TB. She finds she’s pregnant again. (2) A teenage girl is pregnant. She’s not married. Her fiancé is not the father of the baby, and he’s very upset. If you said that abortions were the right course of action then for either case you have just condemned Beethoven and Jesus Christ.

Remember the importance of life on November 4th. Do not be swayed by Obama’s support of "infanticide", and help elect Senator John McCain, who is committed to life and to our country.
