Palin: The Right’s Energizer Bunny

David Yakobovitch

Tina Fey sure knows the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull: lipstick. Since her premier as the Republican Vice presidential candidate on August 29, 2008, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has gained much media coverage and publicity as the woman who will end partisanship and who will put "country first" in Washington.

The 2008 presidential election has brought with it historical changes on issues, on candidates, and with the potential first woman to become vice president of the United States. Sarah Palin has shaken things up in Alaska by vetoing pork barrel legislation and eliminating wasteful earmarks. Mrs. Palin has what it takes to lead Senator John McCain and the Republican Party back into the White House this November.

Sarah Palin has energized our party unlike any vice-presidential candidate has in many decades past. She is well-spoken, her glasses are a hot commodity, and the way she styles her hair has made global fashion statements. She’s bringing new attention to women’s roles in government. We should all start rooting for Palin as the elderly community did in The Villages last month. Her stance on the issues, her emotions, her passion, and her strength to stand by McCain’s side is what distinguishes her as the perfect running mate for John McCain.

Our Republican Party has been energized and has grown to unbelievable numbers in the last month. From October 8th to October 13th, McCain held as much as a 6 points lead over Senator Barrack Obama, according to Gallup Poll. With only a week left until the election, we can clearly see that our conservative base has made an impressive dent in Obama’s polling numbers. The choosing of Sarah Palin as a vice presidential candidate has done more than just energize our party, but it has revolutionized it. We are proud to say that Mrs. Palin will be the first woman vice president to assume office this January! She is a Maverick, like Senator McCain, and has the wiliness, the passion, and the dedication to the issues to deliver. From yard signs, to McCain-Palin pins, to t-shirts and Barbie dolls, rimless glasses and red lipstick, the entrance of Sarah Palin into the McCain team could not have been better timed. She has created a presence of hope, a feeling of can-do to bring reform to Washington. Mrs. Palin can strike a moose down with the blink of an eye—and always has a rifle at hand too. She’s a modest mother of five, with a child who has Down syndrome. She is the role-model that Washington needs to bring care for special-needs children, reform to the energy policy of our nation, and a renewed fiscal policy that will help improve Wall Street and Main Street.

We are the McCain-Palin team. We stand for reform. We stand for our fundamental values and will prosper when times get tough. We will reform our country for the better, and with Sarah Palin and John McCain assuming the oval office in January, we will most certainly bring reform to the United States of America!
